CALL FOR
ENTRIES: Historic Newburgh, Inc. is sponsoring a contest for
pictures from Newburgh/Ohio Township students for our July 4th
Fireworks Celebration. A prize will be awarded for the picture
judged the best and all entries will be posted in downtown
businesses during July. The winner’s picture will be used for
the July 4th t-shirt design and the annual button we sell for
the preferred seating area at the fireworks.
Deadline for entries is March 1. Each entry should be on an 8
1/2 x 11 inch paper. Any medium may be used (crayons, colored
pencils, paints, chalk, a photo, etc.) Bright colors work best
with the buttons and t-shirts.
The theme of the art work should include one or more settings
that remind the student of the fireworks that we do on July 4th:
like fireworks over the river; families enjoying the fireworks;
something patriotic with fireworks, etc. Original work should be
submitted to Historic Newburgh, Inc., P.O. Box 543, Newburgh, IN
47629 or may be dropped at the HNI office at 9 W. Jennings St.,
in downtown Newburgh. Each entry should include the student’s
name, address, phone number, and parents’ name. Entries become
property of HNI and by allowing the child to enter the contest,
parents give permission for HNI to use their child’s name and
photo for publicity purposes. Students may submit as many
entries as they choose. However, only one entry per student will
be awarded a prize.
