2010 Newburgh Fireworks Celebration

Historic Newburgh, Inc. will host the 2010 Newburgh Fireworks Celebration on Saturday, July 3rd at the Old Lock and Dam Park in Downtown Newburgh.  Fireworks will begin at 9pm.

We still have a little over $2,500 to raise and in order to do so will be selling 2010 Newburgh Fireworks Celebration buttons for $5.  Your $5 donation will help to cover the remaining $2,500.  Buttons can be purchased at any Warrick County Heritage Federal Credit Union branch, the Newburgh Schnucks location on Saturday, June 12th, 9am-1pm and Saturday, June 26th, 9am-1pm, or at the Historic Newburgh, Inc. office.

VIP seating will again be located on the west end of the Lock and Dam Park and is $5 a person.  All money collected from VIP seating will help pay for the fireworks.

Thanks to our friends at Holiday World, we will, for the second year in a row, raffle off 2 tickets to Holiday World & Splashin' Safari.  The raffle box will be located at the Old Lock and Dam Building from 6:00pm-8:00pm.  We will announce the lucky winner at 8:30pm.  There is no cost to enter, but please only 1 entry per household.

If you are driving to the Old Lock and Dam Park, here is some helpful information:

The Newburgh Trolley will begin running at 6:30pm on July 3rd from Newburgh Elementary School, Peoples Trust and Savings Bank, and Newburgh Presbyterian Church to the Old Lock and Dam Park and will run continuously until after the fireworks are over.

French Island Trail (SR 662) between East Jennings Street and Westervelt will be closed on July 3rd beginning at 6:30pm.  The boat launch parking area at the foot of the Old Lock and Dam Building on French Island Trail will be closed July 3 from 11 a.m.-11 p.m.  Should there be a rain delay for the fireworks, the same restrictions will apply on July 4.

Only public safety personnel will be allowed on the lower level and other areas designated the safety zone during the evening of the fireworks. There will be no watercraft launching or landing from the public launch site, 6 p.m.-11 p.m. on July 3rd.

Boaters who plan to launch before July 1 and stay out through the holiday will need to park at the east end of the parking area on the lower level.  Parking on the lower level will be restricted to the east end during the weekend and there will be no parking anywhere on the upper level July 1-4.

There will be limited handicapped parking available at the east end of the park.  To access handicapped parking, drivers should enter the park from the east, via Westervelt.

We hope you will join us on Saturday, July 3rd for the 2010 Newburgh Fireworks Celebration.
