There are many options for lodging in the vicinity surrounding Historic Newburgh, but for a unique and Newburgh experience, consider staying in the Lockmaster Cottage or Lockmaster Assistant Cottage in the heart of Historic Newburgh. Built in 1928 on the bluff overlooking the Lock & Dam, the homes have been refurbished by the Town of Newburgh and are available for rent. For more information, visit the Town of Newburgh’s website.
Other downtown lodging can be found at the Fish Market (a cottage on the river 812-490-7414) or Maison 200 (812-573-9011). The Guest House is also available at the corner of Monroe and Jennings. Information is available in our office or by calling 812-853-2815.
Visitors can also stay nearby on the east side of Evansville, Indiana in many national and well-known hotel chains.
Reception and Meeting Space
Historic Downtown Newburgh has a number of venues for small or larger gatherings. The Edgwater Grille and LaVeranda, Cafe Arazu, Vecchios, and the Tin Fish all have space for that special event. Our other restaurants include Knob Hill and Crickets which provide smaller spaces. All of our restaurants will gladly cater for you. Preservation Hall, the Old Lock and Dam building and the Lockmaster Cottages make great locations for wedding receptions, meetings or events. For more information, contact Town Hall at http://www.newburgh-in.org. The Ohio Township Public library has big and small meeting spaces available. The American Legion Kapperman Post #44 can seat 250 people.
In addition to the great spaces available for receptions and meetings, Historic Newburgh is the perfect setting for a wedding.
